Lilypie Third Birthday tickers

Monday May 28: quite an eventful day

Daddy and Elle relax inside while Noah and Pops work hard in the garden to pick some potatoes for lunch.

having a snack with the Powers girls
Elle was so happy to be with her big brother and her Nanna.

This post is personal, so don't read it if you don't want to know about personal issues.

Noah has been using the little potty for about 2 weeks now,but today he pooped in it for the first time!  He was rewarded with a soccer ball.  I think he's been holding it lately since we do not put diapers on him in the house.  A few days ago he asked for a diaper to poo-poo in, but he hasn't gone since then... he's usually pretty regular.  So here's how it happened... he was saying he had to poo and asking for a diaper again, but Jeff decided to just put him on the potty and hold him down (cause he said it was literally coming out).  We praised him and clapped for him to help him calm down... he was extremely proud of himself afterwards!  I hope he will keep it up.

Good Morning Daddy!

Tuesday May 22

Elle enjoyed her solo bath.  I bet she was thinking... finally, I can soak without Noah pouring water on me!

Monday May 21

kickin' back on a Monday morning

Sunday May 20

We had plans to go to the Insectarium and go swimming with Cyrus this weekend, but Noah still has little red bumps spreading on his body and he's started this painfully sounding cough.  We basically spent the weekend at home other than a trip to my work Saturday to pack up some of my stuff.  When we were at home we put boxers on Noah instead of a diaper and he went to the potty whenever he had to use it... no accidents!!!  He got a sticker every time he went, so there are now stickers all over the house.  :)

We also got the walker out for Elle today.  I think she will like it if Noah will let her use... he was pushing her all over the house.
Elle is still pretty unsure about the rice cereal, but at least she's giving it a try again.

Saturday May 19

Check out Elle trying to crawl!
Rock on!

Friday May 18

Elle loves the jumperoo as much as Noah did... whew!  She also finally got to try some rice cereal tonight... she's been eying up our food during dinnertime for weeks now.  She seemed to like the spoon more than the actual food though.

Noah cried... well, fussed the whole way home from school yesterday.  He was so happy to see me when I came to pick him up (Jeff's been picking him up since Elle's been in school), but when we got to the parking lot he wanted to let go of my hand.  I told him if he wanted to go home and see Daddy and Elle (which he's usually super excited about), he had to hold my hand to walk to the car.  He was fussing about it, so I told him he was going to have to stay at school if he didn't hold my hand to go to the car.  He decided to hold my hand, but them when I picked him up to get into the car, he started fussing saying he wanted to stay at school... this continued on and off the whole way home... thank God we live so close!  Anyway, when I walked in the door I told Jeff I thought he had an ear infection.  His nose has been running this week which was typically a sing for us in the past.
Then this morning he slept late, so Jeff had to wake him up... he cried for about 15 minutes after he got out of bed.  I took the day off and brought him to the doctor.  Besides the fussiness, I noticed bumps on his upper chest when he got out of the bath Thursday night; they had spread and multiplied Friday morning and are now on his hip area under his diaper and on his neck and arms.  The doctor said he must have some virus, but his ears looked good... one of them was a little red.  Hope he feels better tomorrow!  Elle also came along for a check up... her mild infection in one ear has now progressed to both ears and one of them has fluid.  The dr.  said just to let it get better on its own by way of saline and time.

Thursday May 17

Noah used the little potty today... he let me know he had to go by saying "I don't want to pee pee in the potty Mommy."  He had no diaper on, so I knew he had to go.  Fortunately, he was perfectly willing to go and was excited to get his sticker afterwards.

Elle was eying up my pineapple, so I let her have the tiniest taste.

Tuesday May 15

Elle did well at the eye doctor's office today.  Check out her large pupils from them dilating her eyes!

a little bathroom reading

Wednesday May 9: Happy 5 month birthday Elle!

Some things Elle accomplished in her 4th month:
* she rolls over like a tumbleweed - no floor blanket is large enough
* as of recently, she pulls her pacifier in and out of her mouth
* she can do a 360 turn
* she sleeps about 9-10 hours a night - from about 7:30 or 8 until about 5 or 5:30
* she grabs both her feet and waves them around... she's not too into eating her toes yet, but she has tried them out many times
* she grabs her toys and "plays" with them
* she is starting to look like she's gonna crawl soon... she already scoots backwards
* she grew more hair finally!
* she stopped spitting up almost completely
* she is interested in books
* she is very interested in what's going on around her
* she continues to absolutely love her brother and never tires of watching what he's doing

Sunday May 6

 I couldn't pick just one.

Another swim day... Jessica, Russ, and Cyrus got an awesome salt water pool.  Noah had a great time in the boat; he dove out into the water once and was a very brave boy... only problem is he is not supposed to go underwater because of the tubes in his ears...  :(
Elle didn't enjoy swimming today, probably partially due to the fact that she was pooped... she crashed in Nonna's arms shortly after getting out of the pool (she was only in for a few minutes).

Saturday May 5

We blew up the backyard pools for some fun in the sun with Jamisen and Adelaine... well, Adelaine slept most of the time, but Elle enjoyed the baby pool anyway.  I told Noah and Jamisen the baby pool was only for babies and the big kid pool was for the big kids. Later that night my mom called Noah a baby and he told her he was not a baby... ha!

Elle is musically inclined just as Daddy and Noah are... it was her first experience with the piano and she was playing like a pro!

Tuesday May 1: Noah's first x-ray

looks like you can see his bootie!

When I got home from work I noticed Noah was limping.  We ended up taking him to the urgent care place by our house and they took x-rays of his knee and hip.  The dr. didn't know what was causing him to be unable to bear much weight on his left leg, but he thinks it's a hip sprain.  My little guy had an old man injury!
