Lilypie Third Birthday tickers

Tuesday November 30

Noah had a great day with Nonna today... he hasn't gone to school in 2 1/2 weeks. Something cute today... my mom dressed him in an outfit that was way too small! I wish I would have gotten a pic... it's supposed to be a romper (long sleeve and long pants)... it was so small it looked like capris and 3/4 length sleeves. I told my mom it was too small and she said she thought it was cute with the capri bottoms (to make it even funnier, she had knee-high socks on him).
Love you mom!
Jeff got the Christmas record out today and Noah had his first experience listening to a record. Jeff said he was trying to figure out where the sound was coming from. Jeff did not notice him bobbing to the music... I have noticed him doing this lately when listening to music...so cute!

Monday November 29

It's so hard to believe Noah is almost 9 months! He has the sweetest little personality and the cutest laugh. He has become very determined (just in the past week). Today he wanted to be near me, but he did not want to sit on my lap...he would flail his body around and wiggle out of my lap if I tried (of course he did still want me to puck him up and hold him as I walked around the house doing things).

Sunday November 28

We got our Christmas tree today!

Saturday November 27

We got this great chair that attaches to the table from Suzie... it came in very handy! Noah was able to sit at the table and eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner with us all.

Noah slept for most of the car ride to Shreveport; however, he did not enjoy the ride home as much. He slept for about half the drive, then he woke up and fussed on and off for the other half... he just wanted to get out of the car! I tried to keep the sun out of his eyes as you can see above and I sat in the back seat with him to play with him. We stopped twice to let him move around a little and have some milk.
One big change I have noticed lately is Noah becoming fussy when he wants something that he knows he is not supposed to have... he thinks fussing about it will cause us to give in. This reality truly became evident today when he was so proud of himself for "stealing" my phone in the car... he was so excited that he had it and he just kept giving me a victorious smile when I let him hold it for a moment. I know I should have taken it away, but it was his most joyful moment of the car ride and I couldn't rob him of it! Besides, I don't mind him holding it, I just don;t want him to "eat" it... I was stopping him from putting it in his mouth.

Friday November 26

What a great day! The weather got significantly colder overnight, so we bundled up and headed off to the Boardwalk for some shopping and a nice stroll. Noah got a winter hat to keep his ears warm... he was bundled up with corduroy pants, a turtleneck, a thick sweater, and 2 blankets! He thoroughly enjoyed his stroller ride through the shopping area with the nice fresh air.

After that we stopped for some lunch at Cheeburger Cheeburger (Noah slept half the time, then woke up for a little food... he was laughing and smiling as Pops fed him). Next we came back to the house and he had a great time playing on the floor in the living room with all the plastic containers and tops Nanna set aside for him in a basket. We pushed our luck and ventured out again to visit some friends... Noah got tired and had enough, so he took a short nap on the way home before dinner.

Noah has been eating those little puffs as snacks... he has a hard time getting them into his mouth cause they get stuck in the palm of his hand.

He has been curling his tongue... he's sort of doing it here, but not really.

I almost forgot... we took a picture with Santa at the Bass Pro Shop... I;ll post it after I get it scanned to the computer.

Thursday November 25

Noah enjoyed his first Thanksgiving in Shreveport. He ate some baked sweet potatoes and he refused his jarred turkey with gravy (I can't blame him cause it was gross!). He had great fun with his great uncle Chris!

Wednesday November 24

We went to a museum to see an Ansel Adams exhibit. We went for a walk in the beautiful park area with a trail around the museum. Noah really enjoyed watching the leaves fall.

Tuesday November 23

Noah slept for most of the drive to Shreveport. He had his first taste of chicken today... not sure that it counts though since it was the smallest piece possible.

Monday November 22

office work

Santa Picture Day!

Sunday November 21

Noah is really into opening and closing things... especially all types of doors (and laptops too).

Saturday November 20

Noah likes to help with the laundry... if only he could fold it after he takes it out. :)

Friday November 19

Noah had a wonderful day with Nonna. They went on many walks. Unfortunately, he threw up again today. :(

Thursday November 18

Noah had a great day playing with Nonna. He went to the dr. for a check-up and he is looking good! He also gets to start eating yogurt... I hope he'll like it!

Wednesday November 17

Noah had a good day today... no vomiting! He has been curling his tongue lately... it's so cute! Neither Jeff or I can do it... he can curl it half way around.

Tuesday November 16

Noah was having a great day. I really enjoyed spending time home as a family without worrying about running errands or getting things done. (We couldn't go anywhere anyway because we were all still recovering.) Then at dinner he threw up... we cleaned him up, took a bath, and put on pj's. He was sipping on a little water and he threw up again. We called the doctor and she said to take him to the e.r. again. I thought he was fine, but we wanted to be sure. Thank goodness they said he looked fine and just gave him some medicine and made sure he could hold down some fluids before releasing him. He fell asleep just before we left the e.r. (after 10pm)... I couldn't believe he was awake so late! He was looking all around at the hospital... he is so aware now and is fascinated by things.

Monday November 15

We are all recovering today. Noah is starting to get back to his usual, cute self. He vomited once at 2pm, but he took some Zofran and seems to be better... except that we are still changing exploding diapers every 2 hours!

Sunday November 14

Well, we had our first and hopefully only er visit last night/ this morning. Noah woke up at 2am covered in throw-up again. He became dehydrated because he wasn't able to keep anything down. He had to get iv fluids and an iv sugar solution. He was quite a little trooper. Meanwhile, Jeff and I woke up about an hour before Noah with the same virus. I had to call my mom to drive Noah and I to the hospital... I couldn't have made it without her.

Saturday November 13 -post 2

So we called the dr. and he said to come in... turns out Noah does not have an ear infection! The other dr. misdiagnosed a virus for the ear infection... apparently it is common. He has a stomach virus which will run its course. He did get a shot for the nausea and some medication for the diarrhea. Sorry this is so descriptive, but it's my journal. Anyway, he's slept a lot today and drank almost a whole container of pedialyte... I hope he has a good night and feels better tomorrow... he just wasn't his usual bubbly self today.
We went through many outfits today!

Saturday November 13

We have had a rough night! Noah slept from 6pm until about 11:45pm when he threw up again. This time he did not sleep through it... probably because it was so much and he was SOAKING wet head to toe. After another bath we decided to head off to the 24 hour Walgreens for some Pedialyte. Noah fell asleep in the car and actually stayed asleep when we put him in his crib. He woke up again at 1am and again at 2am at which point he stayed awake for a while then he woke up again... I can't even remember... all I know is I got collectively about 3 hours of sleep and I am mush brained today. On the up side, Noah seems to be having a good morning (despite the diarrhea every hour). We hope the dr. will see us this morning!

Friday November 12

Noah is officially actually sick for the first time... not a cold or a bug, sick! He woke up in a crib covered with green stuff and pj's covered in green stuff. I thought he had the worst explosive diarrhea ever, but then we opened his diaper to discover only a little potty... so he threw up his food at some point during the night and slept through it. He did not want to eat this morning, but my mom got a little milk in him for a short while before he threw that up. The day continued with a few diarrhea diapers. I was so excited I got him to eat a little for dinner, but he threw that up quickly... it was so much! I didn't know his tummy could hold that much. After another bath, he fell asleep early.

Thursday November 11

Noah was supposed to get his flu shot today, but since he's has a cold the doctor wanted to check him out first. He has an ear infection :( the doctor also said he will probably have allergies. She prescribed claratin, augmentin, a cream for the diaper rash... forgot the name, and told us to use cortozone cream on his chapped cheeks. It's so much medicine!

I got a flat tire on the way to my mom's so we were there later than expected. Noah fell asleep in the car on the way home... he's so cute!

Wednesday November 10

Here's the crib that Noah has been gnawing on... all the white marks are teeth marks!!!

Tuesday November 9

bath time sea monster... with a leaky nose

Monday November 8

My little guy has not been feeling well... he woke up with a runny nose Thursday night and it's still bothering him. We finally bought a battery operated nasal aspirator (thinking it was going to be this amazing cure all), but it doesn't work all that well. Because of his stuffy nose, he hasn't slept well for the past 2 nights, so Jeff and I are tired. I hope he gets a good night of sleep tonight and he feels better in the morning... I want a good night of sleep so I can feel better in the morning too!

Sunday November 7

We are finally giving Noah some finger foods. I thought he would be eager to feed himself, but at first he wanted us to hold them for him. Finally he started to get the hang of it!

Saturday November 6

Friday November 5

Noah woke up last night with a runny/ stuffy nose which has continued throughout the day. My poor little guy is having a hard time breathing because it's so stuffed up right now. He doesn't like the suction bulb (I can't blame him), so he fights me when I try to help him out. He had a few good sneezes earlier which got some of it out... it was funny to see the snot come out of his nose:)

Thursday November 4

Our little guy was super tired today when I picked him up from school... same thing happened yesterday. He seems to be skipping him afternoon nap at school... hope he gets over this tomorrow! I didn't get any playtime with him today... I fed him as soon as we got home, he took a short nap, ate dinner, took a bath, and went to bed.

Wednesday November 3

Noah was walking in between the couch and ottoman today!

Tuesday November 2

Noah has chewed the rail of his crib... pic coming soon (he fell asleep before I could take one tonight).

Monday November 1

Happy birthday to Noah (8 months) and me (older than I'd like to admit). I was off of work today, so I took advantage of the time off and made doctor appointments for the both of us. Noah got to go to school and play for a little while when I went to the dentist. Then we ate lunch at Cafe Reconcile (Noah was tired and fussy- I can't blame him... it was loud in there)... Jeff and I really enjoyed our lunch, we just wish Noah would have enjoyed himself as well. After that we went to Noah's doctor appointment where he christened the examination room twice! In his defense, it was a urologist who was fiddling around down there.

Here's a cute video that was taken Oct. 16 at the Pumpkin Patch.
