Papa teaching me how to walk

Monday November 19

So it finally happened... Elle took a few steps on her own last night.  She walked between Jeff, the ottoman, and me - about 2 or 3 steps at a time.  She took three more steps to me this morning, but seems to prefer walking on her knees before trying to walk for real.  Within the past few days, she has decided she wants to feed herself... this has been very messy and challenging since she is so determined and wants NO help.  I think she needs a bib outfit to wear and a completely washable chair to sit in with a removable floor mat underneath!

and a box is still the best thing ever!

Saturday November 10

Day 11 of diarrhea for Elle :(
On a happy note, she has recently (within the last 2 days) started smacking her lips together to try and blow kisses... she's so sweet.

In her 10th month...

Elle is not walking yet, but she is "knee walking" as Jeff calls it.  She is so good at it that it seems faster than crawling (which is like race crawling sometimes).  She has been waving a lot, and actually waving from side to side instead of opening and closing her hands.  She gets really excited about things and points... she LOVES tv (which of course we are very upset about).  She still says mama all the time, but she says dada from time to time and baba for bottle.  She loves cheerios and imitating Noah;they crack each other up.  She still loves to be held and rocked to sleep.  She's very interested in new foods and really likes rice and apparently Noah's almond milk (she's always trying to steal his rice). She also loves to blow raspberries and she's starting to play peek a boo by pulling the blanket on and off of her face.  She plays with Noah's cars and trains and enjoys taking them in and out of buckets.

Thursday November 8

Nanna is in town staying with Elle since it is now day 9 of her stomach virus.  She didn't throw up yesterday, so we're excited about that.  And she woke up with a nice fat pee-pee only diaper,... then after drinking a bottle, the diarrhea was so bad that when Jeff lifted up her legs to wipe her it ran all the way to her hair... her hair!  Of course the bathroom flooded last night, so the tub is out of commission for now, so that meant she had to take her first shower.  In she went with Daddy; poor thing cried the whole time, but that was the only diarrhea all day - hooray!  Hopefully she's on the road to recovery for real... she's been in good spirits this whole time pretty much.  Tonight she climbed on the Thomas the Train toy and Noah ran around the whole house pushing her; I ran after him trying to make sure she didn't fall as he whipped around the corners.  It was the sutest thing ever, and they were both cracking up.

Monday November 5

Poor Elle is really sick for the first time - not an ear infection, a stomach virus.  She's had diarrhea since Tuesday or Wednesday of last week and she's been throwing up since Friday.  We thought she was finally getting better, but she just threw up again :( .  She's still playful and smiling; she's such a trooper!  She's been eating mostly cheerios on occasion and drinking milk, water, and pedialite... when she went to the doctor on my birthday she weighed 18 pounds 8 ounces... she's still about 25th percentile (a little under).
