I bought a new sippy cup today and Noah used it for a little while (I think only because he was very hungry/ thirsty at the time). Anyway, it was exciting... I tried the training sippy cup top on his old bottles last week and he wouldn't drink from that one.
This video is actually from yesterday. Noah just loves this train! He is also starting to figure out another one of his new toys... he has been pulling the stars on and off the stacker from Nonna. We went to the doctor today to finally get Noah's 9 month shots. I was curious to learn his weight (since he seems to get heavier every day!)... he is a few ounces short of 22 pounds.
Noah got to play with many of his new toys today. He is walking behind his new train!!! He is very proud of himself as he cruises along across the floor (of course it is the cutest thing ever... and a little scary because he is so good at it!).
It's so nice being off of work... we all get to spend quality time together in the mornings. This morning we all played in Noah's room for a while... he is so silly in this 9th month! Today Noah and I attempted to take care of some last minute shopping, but the stores were sold out of many of the items we were searching for. Nanna and Pops came in town and some friends came over for dinner. Noah had fun playing with everyone (especially Dominic).
Noah took an early bath which I think confused him because he fell asleep right after (as he usually does). He slept for about an hour (or most likely longer - I have no concept of time) during our dinner at Shogun. He awoke a little confused, but was happy to see his family and the crazy Hibachi chef creating lots of interesting smoke on the grill. Afterward at Nonna's house, he helped himself to some birthday cake crubs he scrounged off the table.
Noah spent the morning with Dad, then went to Nonna's ans got to play with Cyrus and Aunt Jessica. It was my last day of work! I was excited to make it home to see Noah before bedtime.
Noah crawled into the door frame today... we were all playing in his room and he was looking at us and crawling away and... boom! He didn't cry though.. mostly because Jeff started cracking up laughing which I think threw him off. I was thinking today... I think uh-oh is his first word with meaning... I most likely mentioned this before, but I want to have a record of it... mamma was his first word without meaning (just babble when he was hungry). An another think I don't want to forget (besides his wonderful laugh which we have yet to get on video) is how he climbs all over me when I am laying down on my side... Jeff calls me Mount Mom-more.
We had a busy day... we went Christmas shopping, then to the Art Market at Palmer Park (which was awesome), then to Nonna's to visit. Noah slept for most of the shopping; he woke up when we got to KMart... he was enthralled with all the toys! He loved his stroll around the market after that. At Nonna's he was walking behind the ride on/ push Tow Mater toy and getting into EVERYTHING! He is very curious. He has been saying "uh-oh" a lot lately... he has also started throwing his bottle on the floor (which is usually followed by "uh-oh" also).
Noah went to his first Christmas party today... he went with Jeff to his work party (it was during the day). We got to visit with Jessica, Cyrus, and Papa too after dinner.
Noah went back to the doctor today. He had 3 vials of blood drawn for a CBC and allergy tests... three nurses held him down while they took his blood. He calmed down quickly after they finished and I picked him up (right away)... little guy was quite a trooper.
Since Noah has been about 5 or 6 months his little personality has really come out. We cannot believe how lucky we are to have such a wonderful little person in our lives! He is very determined... he loves to pretend to drink bath water.
Noah is always trying to chase the cats. Jasper will let him pet him for a second, but I don't think Nikki has ever let him get within reaching distance... she will make herself scarce when he starts to walk and gets faster!
When I was leaving for work this morning Noah waved bye bye to me... of course he was really waving to himself and his hand was down by his leg, but still he was waving bye bye to me! When Jeff left, he squeezed his hand waving bye bye since Jeff was holding his hand... awe... so sweet.
Noah went on his first outdoor wagon ride today. We thought he was going to be super excited, but instead he seemed sort of confused... either way, he definitely enjoyed it!
Noah was a little fussy today... I don't think he feels very well. He is still congested with a rattling cough. He had a great time in his bath tonight; he was playing with his Old McDonald's bath book.
Noah has been climbing into his red wagon all by himself. He just likes to sit in there and play. He has a hard time getting out on his own, but he tries... he ends up sort of falling out.
Noah played with his ducks and cup in his bathtub today (with no water) while I was showering... he loved it! He has also learned how to get the lid off his snacks... I think he discovered it by accident while trying to just gum the container, but he keeps doing it.
Noah got inside his red wagon all by himself today! And then a few hours later he was playing with his empty huggies box and he flipped over it crash landing on his head... I just made it to him a fraction of a second too late to catch him before he hit the floor :(
Noah went back to school today. Jeff said he was so excited when they arrived. He will have to get accustomed to school again... he only slept for 30 minutes all day! He still normally takes a 2 1/2 nap every day and sometimes 2 naps. Anyway, today was not a good day to fore-go napping since we had plans to get together with family tonight... he did take a short nap before we left. I was shocked that he managed to hang at my mom's until about 8:30pm... he fell asleep about 8:50pm... this is the latest he has gone to bed for about 5 months! Teresa was asking about Noah's mobility... he is cruising with the help of the furniture still.
Today my mom wheeled Noah around in his red wagon and she said he was squealing with excitement. When I got home I decided to put him in it and take him around... I wish our neighborhood had sidewalks so that I could take him down the street. Anyway, we ended up in his room and I unbuckled him. He was trying so hard to get out on his own. He fell out at first, but I put him back in and helped him lift his foot over the edge to get out. He proceeded to play with the door and tried getting in and out. It is so amazing to watch him figure things out!
When I got home from work today I opened the door to see my mom and a very excited Noah in a diaper box. My mom would always tell me how much I loved playing in my Johnson & Johnson diaper boxes (which were larger). I am so glad Noah has a similar love for boxes. She had him seated in the box and she was pushing him around... he was laughing and having the best time.
