We had to take a quick bath in the sink afterwards!
All the partying made Noah very tired!
Noah woke up with fever again (102 this time), but he's alright now. When I changed his diaper he was pulling his shirt up to cover his eyes then uncovering them as I said peek a boo. Jeff has told me about this before, but this was the first time for me to see him do it.
Noah woke up with the fever again (still 103), but I gave him a luke warm bath and it finally broke (with the help of the antibiotic and tylenol and advil we've been alternating every 3 hours). He was not his usual self today, but he was mostly in good spirits. He was passing things back and forth with Daddy today saying thank you. He has also been clapping a lot lately... he likes it when we announce yah and clap with him!
I got a call from Noah's school around 11am today to let me know he was running 102 degree fever. Nonna went to pick him up and I left work early to bring him to the doctor. This is the first time he's run fever... he has an ear infection. :( Poor guy was acting perfectly fine but was on fire with 103 degree fever all night.
We went to visit Nonna after school today. Noah started walking about 2 weeks ago. He did very well the first day then didn't really walk for about 2 days, then he started taking about 4 steps at a time. In the past week he has improved remarkably... he is walking all throughout rooms. At Nonna's he walked all around the living room holding the basket of remotes. It was a nice day, so the front door was open. Noah took his basket to the threshold and sat down; he played there for quite a while. It was as if he knew he was not allowed outside and this was as far as he could go. He looked so cute playing in the doorway!
Noah and I went to Borders today (it's a book store that sadly is going out of business). He had so much fun looking at all the books and trying to pull the hand basket around. It was the first time he's ever been in a store and not been confined to a basket or stroller. Of course he managed to find all the little pieces of things on the floor (there were quite a bit since the store had pretty much been ransacked by customers). Lucky for me, he finally found a giant pile of stuffed animals in the children's section which kept him occupied for a bit so I could browse a little.
Jeff picked Noah up early from school today. They got to go on a walk and play outside in the little house... Noah enjoyed opening and closing the door and shutters. He also had a visit from Nonna who got inside of the little house and played with him.
Noah "stole" one of my tank tops Saturday morning and he carried it all over the house. He ended up putting it in his room where it has remained since. It seems to have become sort of a lovie for him... he holds it and sucks his thumb or walks around with it near his face.
Noah is becoming more and more aware of things in his environment every day. Lately he has enjoyed putting various objects inside containers (especially boxes). Tonight I was picking up these little balls that go inside his big train. He walked away with the train and I held up a ball and told him to come get it and put it away. He looked at the ball and lifted up the train seat (where the ball belongs); he looked as if he was going to come get the ball to put it away, but the train seat would not stay up when he let it go. He totally knew where the ball belonged!
We had a very busy day with 2 birthday parties to attend. Somehow we also managed to fit in 2 naps! The first party was for Noah's friend Dominic at school... he had a petting zoo. The second was Anne Marie and Claire's which was also outside with so many things to play with in the yard. It was such a pretty day with perfect weather... Noah had such a great time! He even tried some new foods today. He had some brisket at the barnyard party and some roast beef and turkey at the other.
Since walking across half of the living room last Saturday, Noah has really only taken 4 or 5 steps at a time. Today he is really starting to walk. He was walking at school when I arrived to pick him up. We stopped by to say hello to Papa and he was walking all over his house... from the living room into the kitchen and all around the island!
Noah woke up around 10pm... my fault for trying to reposition him in the crib. Anyway,I hadn't gotten much time to spend with him, so I was excited to see his smiling face. I picked him up and got to spend a little time rocking him. He was playing with me and laughing... he is so playful now. He is such a good boy that he still let me put him back down to put himself to sleep after a few minutes.
Noah has not walked much since he took his 13 steps Saturday afternoon. Tonight he walked around the most I have ever seen, taking about 5 steps at a time. He even walked towards me while drinking from his sippie cup.
Noah went down the slide by himself... he had fun!
Noah shared his bottle with us at dinnertime. He would hand it to me and laugh as I pretended to drink out of it. When I gave it back, he offered it to Jeff... this continued for quite a while.
Noah walked from the sofa to the ottoman that Jeff scooted across the room. Jeff said he took 13 steps in a row. I missed it cause I was out to lunch with the girls.
Noah woke up this morning with snot in his hair! Luckily, it was not a sign that it was going to be a rough day... he had a great day today. He took an almost 3 hour nap at school!!! He ate Nonna's chicken soup that he refused yesterday and he really enjoyed it. He also took 2 steps from his train to the ottoman!
Noah has been trying to drink the bath water for a few weeks now. At first I think he was just trying it out. Then he thought it was funny, so he would so it and laugh. Now he is very persistent about it... he tries to drink from the cup we use to rinse him and if he can't get that, he sticks his face in the water... maybe he likes the way it tastes. We had a rough afternoon... very out of character for Noah. Maybe it's the new tooth coming in (bottom right), but he was not a happy camper until he was in his bath. He fell asleep in the car on the way home and he was fussy from the time I woke him up until the second his bottom hit the bath water. At least he was happier when I was putting him to sleep... he was playfully hitting me in the face with his sippie cup and laughing (not exactly something I was too fond of, but it was still nice to see him in a good mood).
Noah LOVED playing outside at Murphy's birthday party... we can't wait to take him out to play when the weather gets nice again.
His first balloon experience... he watched other playing with it for a while, then he had a turn to check it out himself.
Noah played peek-a-boo with me this morning... for real. He sat behind the glider in his room and peeked around it... this continued and I started to say boo. He continued for a while... until I called Daddy in to see and bring the camera. Of course it was over after that, but it was a lot of fun while it lasted.
Sorry about the slow shutter speed... it's such a cute pic though, I had to post it.
Noah had a lot of fun playing with PaPa.
We are trying to start weening Noah off of his thumb... he is not happy about it. He has been doing great with his sippie cups and he has been trying all sorts of new foods. Today he ate fillet mignon, asparagus, and mashed cauliflower for dinner.
Noah had a fun day at home with Nonna today. He has been climbing in and out of his wagon... he likes to play inside of it. But now he is climbing in and standing on the seat... he is suck a little monkey. His hair is getting so thick and a little long at the bottom... it seems like just yesterday that he had no hair. His hair doesen'teven feel like baby hair anymore, it's thicker.
Noah had some of Nonna's delicious veggie soup for dinner tonight... he loved it! It had turkey meatballs, broccoli, tomato, celery, carrots, and onion in it.
Noah has been doing this head shaking thing lately. It's sort of like he is shaking his head no, but it's more of a bobble head action... of course it is cute as can be.
