Lilypie Third Birthday tickers

Saturday June 30

We went to the park this morning to take pictures... Jeff and I weren't feeling well, but we made it through.  Noah, Elle, and I went to Auntie Glo and Uncle Vern's 50th Wedding Anniversary vow renewal celebration after nap.

Wednesday June 27

Noah has been potty trained at home for about a month now.  We asked them to take him at school, but he's still been wearing diapers since they said they can only take him every hour.  Well, he's smart and lazy, so if he has on a diaper, he just goes in the diaper.  I talked to his teacher Monday and she agreed to let me send him today without a diaper... he did great!  They said he used the potty a little more frequently than every hour, but he let them know when he had to go with enough time for them to take him.  When Jeff got there to pick him up he was taking a poop!  We were so proud... he got a Woody doll as his reward.

Tuesday June 26

Tulane Patchwork Players
I remember going to these play when I was a kid, so I am so glad they are still around to share with our kids.

I took Noah and Elle to their first play this morning.  It started at 10am and lasted an hour.  They both did great; Noah busted his lip on the seat in front of him, but he recovered quickly (while watching the play).  Elle took a nap before the play, so she drank a bottle and played and actually watched a little of the play also.
Afterwards, Liz brought Jimmy, Claire, and Anne Marie over to eat lunch and play.

Monday June 25

Elle's new facial expression... she makes a cute little noise when she does it too (she blows out of her nose when she squishes it up)

Noah Mr. Potato Head's arm in time out for hitting Buzz Lightyear.  He went behind the couch to get the time out chair all by himself.  :)

Sunday June 24

Noah is getting really good at puzzles... he puts them together with only a little help.

Saturday June 23

Noah wanted to make sure Elle did not get water in her ears, so he gave her a shower hat.
He also helped give her a bath.

Friday June 22

Noah introduced me to one of his little friends at school when we were leaving.  He looked at her and said, "This is my mommy."  2 times.... guess she wasn't paying enough attention the first time!

Elle is all over the place!  She is sort of crawling... I call it the worm crawl.  She can work her way over to get whatever her little heart desires.  And in her walker she is getting into all of Noah's toys; when she starts crawling and walking we are going to have our hands full!

Tuesday June 19

Today we went to hang out with Jessie and Cyrus.  Noah had a BLAST!  He doesn't get Cyrus all to himself very often; well he sure took advantage of it. They were so busy playing all day.  Elle got to use her exersaucer... which we had to leave again.

Happy Father's Day!

We ate lunch at the Velvet Cactus... it was awesome (and so were the kids)!
It rained on and off while we were there, so we had to eat inside, but we still got to take a few pictures in the  outdoor area.

After nap Jessie, Cyrus, Maddie, and Camille came over and we played in the yard.  Noah got all wet of course!

Wednesday June 13

 getting ready for bath time

it was so hot at the art market!
we ate (luckily we found a table under the tent) and ran

in a few short days, Elle has become a pro at sitting up on her own

Elle gets around so well in her walker... and she enjoys using it.  Noah used it for a short while, but never spent the amount of time in it that Elle has already.  He would get tired of it quickly.  When Elle first started using it, she could go both backwards and forward almost right away.  Noah had a hard time learning to go forward which is why I think he was frustrated with it and didn't want to be in it for too long.  I'm just sitting here at this very moment amazed as I watch Elle maneuver around the living room!

Monday June 11

Elle has taken over Noah's dinner chair

Sunday June 10

Warning: this post is a little personal.

Noah went to the bathroom alone this afternoon to go #2.  When Jeff tried to check on him. he closed the bathroom and told Jeff to go away!  We were so proud of him... this was the first time he went alone, without crying or being upset about going #2.

Elle did a good job eating her bananas for dinner!

Happy 6 month Birthday Elle!

Elle is really stating to sit up on her own (for about a minute or so).  We went to Cyrus' house today to swim, but the weather was yucky; Noah had tons of fun playing indoors with Cyrus and Lilly instead.  Luckily Jessica had a potty seat so he could go to the bathroom over there... I don't want to jink myself, but Noah continues to do awesome using the potty!  I didn't even put a diaper on him for the car ride home.

Thursday June 7

Noah got in Elle's walker today... I wanted to fuss at him, but it was too hilarious!  He ended up stubbing his toe when he got out, so he went to the freezer, opened it, got out his ice pack that we've been putting on bobos (his old teether), and took care of his toe... I know I keep saying it, but he is just such a big boy (when he wants to be).

Wednesday June 6

This is a common scene... many nights Noah asks to take a book to bed.  One of his frequent choices is the book I Love Trucks by Philemon Sturges... when we come to check on him it is always open to this page with the cherry picker!

My baby is babbling so much... and making consonant sounds too.  I just wish her ears would feel better... I don't know if it's discomfort from the fluid in her ears or possibly teething (she's been drooling and chewing on things) that's causing her to not want to eat, but I hope her appetite is back tomorrow.
Noah is doing awesome using the bathroom!  He is so smart too.  He's just such a big boy now.

Tuesday June 5

always eying up everyone else's food

 I don't want it!

Well, since eating so much Sunday night, Elle hasn't had much of an appetite lately.  We still keep trying though.

Monday June 4

Elle went for her monthly check-up today.  She still has fluid in her ears (it's been like 3 weeks now), so with the history of ear problems in the family, the dr. said she will inevitably need tubes.  She has to take nasonex to try to hold her off until she is 9 months... I hope it helps because I really don't want to have to put the tubes in when she's so young!  She weighs 14lbs 9oz which is 25% for weight and she is 26" tall (50%).  She had to get 2 shots today.  First one, she didn't even flinch, but the second one made her cry a little... She was such a trooper.

Sunday June 2

Noah does a great job sharing with his sister.
Elle did a great job eating her rice cereal tonight.  She usually opens her mouth, but gets distracted and takes a long time to finish just a little bit, but tonight she ate a ton.  Plus she drank a big 6oz bottle about an hour later, then woke up a few hours later and drank more... she must be having a growth spurt!
